《英语文摘》跟考研英语阅读文章的题材、内容更加贴近一些，刊登的都是外电报刊精华，内容时事、新闻、资讯文章等，而且从难以程度上讲也比较适合高校大学生、硕博研究生；而《英语沙龙》以滋润身心、开阔视野的多题材阅读欣赏类文章为主，不适合应试，英语水平比考研英语稍低；《英语世界》感觉更侧重介绍西方文化方面，译文比较纯正翻译也很经典，可以作为英语学习和欣赏之用，但不适宜考试。总体上来讲，《英语文摘》对于考研来讲更适合。
