Describe an occasion when you used a map (e.g. a paper map, an electronic map) that was useful
Describe an occasion when you used a map (e.g. a paper map, an electronic map) that was useful
You should say:
When you used the map
Where you were
Why you used a map
And explain how you felt about the experience

Well, I vividly recall a time when I utilized a map during a road trip to Miyun Reservoir in the Miyun District, situated northeast of Beijing, China. Renowned for its recreational activities such as fishing, boating, picnics, and mountain climbing, the reservoir is a popular tourist destination.
During the New Year Holiday, I was with my friends in Haidian District. Despite living in Beijing for nearly three years, we had yet to explore Miyun Reservoir. Eager for an adventure, we decided to embark on a road trip. Initially confident in the routes I had researched from online guides, this article is from Laokaoya website, I unexpectedly took a wrong highway, costing us at least half an hour on the road. You know, it was at this point that I turned to Baidu Map, the most widely used digital mapping service in China.
Well, I chose Baidu Map because of its reputation for accuracy. Without it, the risk of heading in the wrong direction loomed, which is definitely an outcome I hoped to avoid.
Honestly, I felt a bit embarrassed when I got lost and had to resort to Baidu Map. I had intended to showcase my knowledge of transportation routes in Beijing to my friends, but they were understanding, and no one made fun of me. In hindsight, I should have used the map sooner to prevent wasting time. Nonetheless, the trip turned out to be enjoyable overall.
Reflecting on this experience, I believe I can navigate the route without relying on the map in future trips.
