超时的根本原因是理解错了提醒邮件中的“please note that 18-Nov-2014 is the date on which your revision option will have expired, so you may submit up until 18-Nov-2014, but not on 18-Nov-2014.”我错误的理解为这句话是在强调不仅18号可以提交，而是之前的时间都可以提交（认清这个问题后很想弄死自己）。因为之前在出差，17号下午才回来，而且13号给老师发过去以后他也一直没有给意见，所以打算18号自己再好好处理一下再提交。18号上午登了系统还可以（因为是美国时间的17号吧），就想说再改改，看看能不能再让导师抓紧看看，18号下午或19号再提交。结果18号下午登录发现不能提交了，写着“Attention Authors! If your revision deadline has expired and you are attempting to submit a revision, you must appeal to the technical editor of your manuscript for an extension.”另外邮件里也写了“If it is not possible for you to submit your revision by 18-Nov-2014, you will need to appeal to XXXX@XXXX.com for an extension.”才意识到自己弄错了时间。参考小木虫里前人给的格式给编辑发邮件（具体如下文所示），邮件标题是“APPEAL FOR AN EXTENSION TO SUBMIT REVISION OF XXXX"，然后编辑至今没有回音，略焦虑，也没敢和导师说弄错时间这事。请教大家现在除了等待该怎么做，或者一般编辑多久回邮件？谢谢大家！邮件、提交系统里也都没有看到编辑的电话什么的。P.S. 第一次求助也不太懂规矩，如果有什么不对的地方大家指出来哈。Dear Editor,As I was away on a mission some time ago and major revisions were required for the manuscript, I am sorry that I have not submitted the revision on time.Today I return to my office, so I will submit the revision as soon as possible.But the revision deadline has expired, so I want to appeal to you for an extension.Sorry for the delay and many thanks for your kind patience.With regards, XXXX 返回小木虫查看
