Hardware required for piSignage player

piSignage Player is based on Raspberry Pi, a highly popular low-cost, credit-card sized computer sold across the globe. This mini PC given its given its footprint, cost, reliability, availability and performance provides an ideal foundation for piSignage.

The following are the suggested components needed to assemble the piSignage Player.Raspberry Pi model 3 (recommended although others models are supported)USB power supply with micro USB cable (with 2A capacity, TV USB power may not be sufficient)Class 10, 8GB+ microSD card from a reputed vendorGood quality HDMI cable to connect with the screen.LAN cable or Pi compatible USB wi-fi adapters if wifi is not built-in.

Many vendors sell these components as a kit, for e.g.amazon.

If the power supply is not of good quality or has insufficient power rating, player may mis-behave or even reboot. A lightning/thunder icon is seen on the right hand top corner if power is insufficient.Pi uses a SD card to run the program as well store the content. A class 10(for faster access time) SD card with minimum 8GB capacity is needed.

Frequent power interruptions may corrupt the SD card.Display and Audio

piSignage Player provides HDMI interface with option to select 1080p(Full HD) or 720p output mode. Identify a suitable TV which supports these specifications and suits your needs.

Though piSignage supports displays that have other specifications, most of our customers use full HD Displays to create Engaging displays. For more details about supported screen specifications refer Documentation. By default audio is output on both HDMI and 3.5mm audio port.
