National Science Library

The National Science Library (NSL) provides tools and services to access research from the National Research Council (NRC) and around the world. You can view or request publications in science, technology, engineering and health, as well as from an online repository of NRC-authored research.

The NSL is a member of the Federal Science Libraries Network (FSLN), a partnership of seven federal science libraries that have joined together to establish a portal where you can search the print collections and repositories of all the libraries from a single place.

National Research Council Archives

The NRC Archives preserves NRC records of historical value. If you are interested in learning more about the history of scientific research at the NRC or about the history of science in Canada, the NRC Archives provides a comprehensive reference service. You may also search the NRC Archives using the library Catalogue.

National Research Council Publications Archive

Search this online repository of NRC-authored technical reports, conference publications, articles, corporate publications, and more.

Onsite services

The National Science Library is located on the National Research Council (NRC) campus at 1200 Montreal Road, Building M-55, Ottawa, Ontario. Members of the public are welcome to visit in person, by appointment only, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. local time, Monday to Friday, except on statutory holidays.

Security policy: All visitors, contractors and personnel who are not in possession of a valid NRC ID card will require a temporary pass to access the library facilities.
