MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins could be more likely to pull a move at the NFL trade deadline if they upset the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Orchard Park, N.Y.
It may be hard to justify adding a player or two if the Dolphins are 2-6.
That said, it seems to be a buyers' market, with solid players being acquired for fifth-, sixth- and seventh-round draft picks.
WHAT IF THEY'RE SELLERS: These Dolphins could be moved at NFL trade deadline
There are three position groups it seems quite obvious Miami could add to:
Edge rusher to Miami Dolphins at trade deadline?Bradley Chubb (ACL) is not close to a return. Jalen Phillips (ACL) is out for the season. Shaq Barrett retired before ever playing a game for the Dolphins.
Miami is one of the worst teams in the NFL when it comes to sacks. First-rounder Chop Robinson has no sacks in seven games.
Rookie Mo Kamara has played in only one game. Quinton Bell has not had an impact. Emmanuel Ogbah is not the pass-rush threat he was a few years ago.
There are pass rushers available. This is the position Miami seems most likely to add.

(Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images)Guard/Center to Miami Dolphins at trade deadline? The Dolphins may get guard Isaiah Wynn back from injury before the season is over. And perhaps he competes to take a starting spot from Liam Eichenberg or Robert Jones.
But Miami really can't rely on that happening.
Depth is a big issue here. If Eichenberg, Robert Jones or center Aaron Brewer were hurt, Andrew Meyer and Lester Cotton would be next up.
The Dolphins trading a fifth-, sixth- or seventh-rounder for an interior offensive lineman makes plenty of sense. It would add a sense of security down the stretch.
Defensive Tackle to Miami Dolphins at trade deadline? The Dolphins are using veteran Calais Campbell a lot more than they might prefer.

Da'Shawn Hand has been solid. But Zach Sieler (eye) is hurt.
Could there be an interior upgrade in depth that helps at a position where Benito Jones plays a lot and Brandon Pili is a backup?
Well, yeah.
It's also quite possible the Dolphins just promote one of the three defensive tackles on their practice squad at the moment.
