参考范文:
This survey was carried out to find out what kind of transport people prefer to use when they go out. And 500 people took the survey.
A large number of those surveyed use the train. This is demonstrated by the fact that 52% of them said that they use the train to get to work or school. A large proportion is satisfied with the bus service. 28 per cent go out by bus. But there are many people who choose to go out in their own cars. This is illustrated by the fact that 15% of the participants said that driving a car is faster and more convenient. As far as cycling, only 5% said that they would ride bikes.
In conclusion, the majority of people surveyed prefer to commute by public transport which shows they are satisfied with the service. They think the public transport is reliable, efficient and reasonable.
Section B (20 marks)
参考范文:
How much people in certain jobs should be paid is a constant subject of debate with each profession stressing its own worth. Nobody can deny that there are certain professionals like nurses, doctors and teachers who are essential to society, and who should therefore be rewarded accordingly. However, except in rare circumstances, this is seldom the case. When we look at the huge salaries and fees received by certain sports stars, actors and actresses and people who run large companies, this does not seem fair.
However, there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration here. First of all, not all film stars earn huge sums of money. One must also remember that the career of many actors is very short and therefore the money they earn has to be spread over many years. The same applies to company bosses. There are certain circumstances where this latter group does earn excessive salaries that quite often cannot be justified.
Offering a set of criteria as to how much people should be paid is not easy. Whatever criteria are used, an on-going cycle will develop. As one group of professionals catches up with or overtakes another in terms of salary, there will be pressure in other areas. So I think that certain key professionals should have their salaries assessed by independent review bodies to ensure they are fairly treated.
