Her fatherstood in a distance and watched her painting for hours. “Thislittle girl comes here to paint every day. I think she lovespainting,” the cleaner there told him. Her father felt sorry,because he had never tried to understand what his daughter reallyliked. He and his wife considered painting a waste of time andnever supported Mary’s idea of going to art school. They thoughtMary should focus more on her studies, especially science. Becausethey only wanted to make her a doctor or an engineer. Now herealized what Mary really liked. The father was moved by Mary’sdetermination and changed his mind. He left the park alone anddecided to have a good talk with his wife that night.
