研究方向
黏细菌(Myxobacteria)在系统进化上属于Proteobacteria类群的δ分支。在其生活史中表现复杂的多细胞群体行为特性,显示与多细胞真核生物较多的相似性,显著不同于其他细菌,被认为是生活于多细胞生命边缘的单细胞生物类群,是一类“高等”的原核生物,是细菌细胞间通讯与协作,多细胞形态发生,以及生命进化等研究的重要模式生物材料。黏细菌能够降解利用其他活的微生物细胞、细胞残体以及许多难降解的大分子有机物,是一类捕食性细菌,在微生物生态系统扮演重要角色。黏细菌拥有庞大的基因组,是目前报道的原核生物中最大的。黏细菌能够产生丰富的次级代谢产物,具有种类多、结构新、作用机理新颖多样的特性,被公认是继放线菌之后又一个重要的药源微生物新类群。
我们以黏细菌为基本材料,开展如下方面的研究:
1.黏细菌资源及其多样性,包括可培养和未培养的黏细菌类群;
2.以黏细菌资源为基础,开展黏细菌细胞行为及其进化研究;
3.以黏细菌产生的抗肿瘤化合物埃博霉素(Epothilones)为主要研究对象,开展黏细菌发酵工程和代谢工程研究;
4.在黏细菌中建立和改进遗传操作体系,并对黏细菌进行遗传分析和遗传改造。
