We offer full-time (2 years) and part-time (3 years) MPhil programmes in a range of Five Multidisciplinary Research Themes. The programme aims to provide basic research training to develop independent research skills.
Students are expected to be highly self-motivated and work closely with a supervisor to conduct research. The MPhil research should demonstrate originality and a thorough understanding of the field of study and research methods. MPhil students will be required to follow an approved course of study and research, which includes coursework. The coursework component is designed to support research work and preparation for writing the thesis.
Doctor of PhilosophyWe also full-time (4 years) and part-time (6 years) PhD programmes for candidates without a research master’s degree. The programmes are available in a range of Five Multidisciplinary Research Themes and aim to provide advanced research training to foster independent research skills.
Students are expected to be highly self-motivated and collaborate with a supervisor to conduct research and review the literature. The PhD research should make an original contribution to knowledge and be worthy of publication. PhD students without a research master’s degree are required to follow an approved course of study and research, which includes coursework. The coursework component is designed to support research work and preparation for writing the thesis.
