山东大学的学习年限为硕士研究生2-3年，博士研究生4年。

硕士研究生的学习年限可在相应基本学制基础上延长1年。博士研究生的学习年限可在相应基本学制基础上延长2年。每次延期可为三个月、半年、一年。休学不计入最长学习年限。

延长学期期限需本人申请，按学期缴纳学费。未申请延长学业按结业处理。

School Period & Extension of Study Duration

Masters program lasts two (2) to three (3) years and Doctoral programs four (4) years.

The study duration for postgraduates can be extended by one (1) year on the basis of the corresponding academic system. the study duration for doctoral students can be extended by two (2) years on the basis of the corresponding academic system. Each period of extension can be three (3) months, six (6) months or one (1) year for Doctorate/Post Graduate Students. The suspension time will not be counted into the maximum study duration.

The extension of the school period shall be applied in person. The tuition fee shall be paid each semester. The students who don’t apply for extension of the school period will be regarded as completing the courses without degrees.
