Undergraduate Programme in Geology (Tourism Earth Science）
一、专业简介（Major Introduction）
旅游地学是地球科学与旅游业相结合而产生的一门新兴交叉学科，以地球科学的理论与方法为基础，研究旅游业涉及的地学问题。地质学（旅游地学方向）专业是地质学与旅游学相结合的理科专业，隶属于地质学一级学科。本专业以“地质学为基础、地质公园为主体、地学旅游为拓展与延伸”为特色。旅游地学专业的研究和应用范围非常广泛，涉及到地质遗迹资源的评价、旅游地质、地质公园的规划与管理、地质旅游的开发、旅游管理等诸多方面。
Tourism Earth Science is a new interdiscipline of Earth Science and Tourism, which specializes in study of the geological issues on the tourism based on the theories and methods of Earth Sciences. The major of Geology (Tourism Earth Science）is a science specialty, combined with geology and tourism. It is characterized by being based on geology, taking geopark as main body and the geo-tourism as expansion & extension. The research and application of tourism earth science have a wide range, related to basic geology, evaluation of geo-heritage resources, tourism geology, planning and management of geoparks, tourism development, tourism management, and many other aspects.
二、培养目标（Academic Objectives）
本专业主要为国土资源管理、各级各类地质公园、国家公园、旅游机构等部门及行业，培养思想品德优良、身体健康、既有较扎实的地质学基础和数理化及外语基础，又掌握地质旅游相关知识，尤其是地质公园的规划、开发及管理的基本知识和能力，同时具有较高的科学素养及在科研机构、高校从事旅游地学研究或教学的能力的地学与旅游学相结合的专门人才。
Students major in geology (tourism earth science) will systematically accept the professional training of basic geological theory, knowledge and skills, knowledge of all science, foreign language and related knowledge of tourism, especially obtain basic knowledge and skills of Geoparks planning, development and management or related disciplines. With high scientific literacy, these students could engage in research and teaching of tourism earth science in institutes and schools, or they will become high-level expertises to deal with technological research, development and management in the fields of tourism development, tourism planning, geoparks, national parks and land resource management.
三、培养要求（Academic Requirement）
德育培养要求：本专业毕业生应热爱祖国，拥护中国共产党的领导，具有爱岗敬业、艰苦奋斗、求真务实、热爱劳动、遵纪守法、团结合作的品质；具有优良的思想品德、社会公德和职业道德，以及较强的心理调节和适应能力。
Moral education training requirements: the graduates should devote the motherland, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, with characters of love, dedication, hard -working, plain-living, truth-seeking, labor-loving, law-abiding, unity and cooperation; Have the good thought personal character, social morality and professional ethics, as well as the strong ability of psychological adjustment and adaptation.
业务培养要求：具备厚实的地质学基础知识并建立良好的地质思维，掌握系统的旅游地学基础理论和基本技能；了解旅游地学研究的前沿和发展动态，熟悉旅游地学的工作程序、野外实践方法和资料收集、分析能力；通过参加本专业相关的学术和科研创新活动，培养科学创新精神。
Business Training requirements: the students should have solid foundation in natural science knowledge, and master basic theory, knowledge and skill of tourism earth science and related subjects, know well about the basic tourism earth science research process, experimental method, information collection and analytical skills, and understand frontier issues and developing trend of basic theory study. Students are trained with scientific innovative spirit through taking part in a number of scitific activites.
四、学制与学位（Length of Schooling and Degree）
学制四年，学生修满规定的最低毕业学分，达到培养目标规定的各项要求后，授予理学学士学位。
Length of schooling is four years. After getting the prescribed minimum school credits and reaching all the requirements of the educational target, students will be awarded bachelor degree of science.
五、核心课程（Core Courses）
本着“夯实（地质）基础、突出（地质公园）特色、塑造（旅游地学）精品”的指导思想来设置本专业的核心课程，课程主要涵盖四个方面：地学旅游相关的地质学专业课程、地质遗迹调查和地质公园规划及管理相关的课程、旅游学的相关课程、地质公园规划管理相关工作所用工具类课程。具体包括：遥感地质学、第四纪地质学与地貌学、生态环境学、自然地理与人文地理学、区域分析与规划、旅游学、旅游地学导论、国家公园与地质公园概论、地理信息系统、计算机地质制图、地质学（旅游地学方向）专业英语、学科前沿课等共12门核心课程。
为了加强本专业学生的地质学基础，大一和大二的地质认识实习和教学实习与地质学专业的实习内容及要求完全相同，分别参加北戴河地质认识实习和周口店地质教学实习，另外在大三学期还安排了两周的“地质公园解说与导游教学实习”，大三的生产实习安排学生跟随导师深入我国各地质公园进行，为毕业论文（设计）收集相关资料和数据，最终完成与地质公园规划管理及旅游开发相关的毕业论文。
The course construction is based on the guidelines of laying solid foundation of geology, highlighting the characteristics of geoparks and shaping elaborate works and mainly covers four facets, those are geological courses related to geo-tourism, courses related to geo-heritages investigation and geopark planning and management, course related to tourism and courses of tools used in the geoparks planning and management. The twelve core courses are Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology, Remote Sensing Geology, Physical Geography and Human Geography, Eco-environmantal science, Introduction to Tourism, Introduction to Tourism Earthscience, Introduction to National Parks and Geoparks, Regional Analysis and Planning, Geographic Information System, Computer Geoscience Cartography, Geological English and Discipline Frontier.
In order to enhance the geological knowledge, the field training contents and requirements for freshman and sophomore of tourism earth science major are completely same as those of geology major. The junior of this major should take part in two weeks training for geopark interpretation and guide, moreover, they will go to different geoparks with their instructors during the production practice period to collect the related data for their graduation thesis. Therefore, the graduation thesis of this major should be related with geoparks.
