工程应用英语(English for Engineering)

学时:40学时

课程内容:本课程面向专业学位硕士研究生开设,共设7个单元,涉及申请技术职位,描述技术数据,解释技术应用、技术优势、设计规范、工程试验、安全规定、国际工程合同阅读,以及工程领域伦理道德问题讨论等内容。

授课方式:课程讲授(30学时)与学生实践(10学时)

课程目标:旨在培养专业学位研究生的英语综合应用能力,使之在今后学习、工作中能用英语有效地进行工程应用领域的交流。

考核形式:a.撰写工作简历和实验(调查)报告(10%);b.口头汇报演讲(10%);c. 课程项目(以组为单位完成)(25%);d.在线测试(40%)+在线写作(15%)

Planning a career in engineering—applying for an engineering position;Learning to work with data—writing and delivering report based on statistics;Handling specific issues in engineering projects—dealing with technology, specification and standards;Understanding situations in international projects—writing business letters and reading contract agreements.Discussing engineering ethics—being ethically sensitive to the consequences of our actions as engineers
