Master of Science in Finance Program (Olin Business School)

The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) is a rigorous and comprehensive graduate program that offers in-depth training in securities research, asset management, derivative pricing, and fixed income for students pursuing specialized finance careers.

Washington University’s MSF program attracts applicants with a broad range of academic experience in the areas of finance, economics, statistics, engineering, life sciences, and mathematics. Prior internship or work experience is recommended, though not required, for admission to the program.

For students who do not have any prior experience or training in finance, we offer concentrated Foundation courses in both finance and accounting to prepare them for the program curriculum. All tracks fuse mathematical tools with a strategic understanding of business decision-making.

Quantitative Finance (MSFQ) track develops a skill set similar to a Financial Engineering program while still including course work in corporate finance, investments and financial markets. Prior computer programming knowledge is helpful, but not required.
